Pallet Racking System

If you own or lease space in a warehouse, or if you have any type of business where you need to be able to rack pallets to keep them off of the ground, then you know the importance of a good pallet racking system. A pallet racking system is basically a shelving system, but one that is made on a larger scale to accommodate the large size of a pallet.

This pallet racking system will provide you with a  safe and efficient way to store pallets that are either empty, or loaded with goods of any kind. There are a few things to think about when buying pallet rack systems, and here are some common sense questions that might help you as you search for the right ones. 

First of all, pallet racking shelving is going to need to fit into its environment. Do you want your pallet racking system to fill up your entire building's space, or do you want just one or two to set along the walls? If you actually are stocking a warehouse, then you may find that it is more space efficient to have them set throughout your entire warehouse.

However, if you only need to store other things, like wood or supplies, in the workplace, it might be easier to just have a few racking units lined up against the walls. So, the first thing to think about is how many you will want to have in your space, and then go from there.

If you need large, expansive pallet racking systems, try looking for a supplier who can sell you them at a discounted price. But if you only need one or two rack units, look for a maker who does this. Some makers only sell huge amounts, while others are fine with just selling one or two racks.

The next thing to think about is what you are going to be storing. Will the pallets be stacked high, or will there just be a few feet worth of product on them? Also, will they be extremely heavy, or will they be pretty lightweight? There are different grades of pallet rack systems, and if you need to store pallet loads of TVs, you are going to want a much higher-grade, heavy duty system than if you are going to store pallets of toilet paper.

Also, some pallet racking shelving is adjustable for size, while others are not. If you are going to have some pallets that are different heights than others, then you will want to make sure that the pallet rack systems that you choose allows for adjustments up to what you will need.

And finally, make sure that you get wall anchors for the racks that are along the walls, and make sure that you get what you need to anchor the racks to the ground. You will also need a concrete floor that is the appropriate thickness so that you have a stable place to support the pallet racking system. You cannot store these racks on anything less than a concrete floor, or it is extremely dangerous and unstable!
